Satellite TV deals VS Cable TV deals
Let’s compare satellite TV against cable TV by bringing in the big players of the pay-TV industry in the US.
Satellite TV Providers
Direct TV and Dish Network’s basic satellite TV packages start at about $30 and $25 respectively. These include more than 120 all-digital channels. The two providers basically have the same quality of service, same line of promotions. What differs from the other is the cost and some of their program line-ups.
Cable TV Providers
Comcast and Time Warner Cable’s digital cable TV programs vary. Comcast starts with its Digital Starter that range from $52-62; while its premium package, the Digital Premier costs $105-130. Time Warner Cable, on the other hand offers $49.95 every month, subscribers get over 200 channels (plus other charges, of course). Both have lots of choices for its subscribers – On Demand programs, Sports packages, Movies, HDTV, Live Events and more.
Interested subscribers however, need to check with their local providers first before planning on what programs to choose (with which cable company) because their program line-ups may differ from one location to the other. Even the price range may vary significantly. Not to mention the one-time charges one needs to pay, bear in mind also that unlike satellite TV providers, cable services charge their subs with equipment and installation costs, etc.
