How to Hook up Satellite TV Antenna to One TV
Many Direct TV and Dish Network subscribers may have been using “bunny ear” antennas before switching to the dish. If you are one of these satellite TV users, you can use these antennas to receiver local channels and other OTA contents that may not cover your satellite TV subscription.
Hook up your dish and your antenna in one TV by adding 2 extra coaxial cables to your present satellite TV setting. If you have the basic technical skills on the matter, you will find no trouble following the simple instructions below.
Part I
Prepare the following: 3 RG 6 coaxial cables, HDMI cable for HD receivers and an audio/video cable (colored red, white, and yellow).
Connect one of the RG 6 coaxial cables to the wall outlet of the antenna.
Connect the other end of this cable to the jack located at the back of the satellite receiver. Look for Off-Air or Antenna IN label.
Use the next RG 6 coaxial cable to connect to the OUT TO TV jack located at the back of the satellite receiver.
Connect the other end of this cable to the IN (Off-Air In) jack located at the back of the TV Antenna.
Use the third RG 6 coaxial cable to connect to the wall outlet for the satellite.
Connect the other end of this cable to the Sat IN jack located at the back of the satellite receiver.
Part II
Connect the RCA audio/video cable to the satellite receiver. Match the color of the connectors to the color of the OUT/Out to TV jacks (e.g. yellow: yellow, red: red and white: white).
Lastly, connect the other end of the cable to the back of the TV labeled as A/V input jacks. Match the colors of the connectors to their corresponding jacks (e.g. yellow: yellow, red: red and white: white).
With every component connected, you can now watch your favorite digital programs using your old antennas with/or your new satellite TV receivers.
