Most consumers value the option of bundling service bills – telephone, internet and digital television bill into a single billing statement from one service provider. While service bundling has become increasingly available with satellite TV (Direct TV and Dish Network offer high speed internet access for example), this is yet one feature much better in cable television services than in satellite TV services.

Why? Cable television already laid the needed infrastructure to support other services and has been doing it for years. Telecommunications services, for instance, remains an unconquered territory for any satellite service.

Bundled services are increasingly available with satellite TV however. As mentioned, Major providers like Dish Network and Direct TV now offer high speed internet service along with their digital TV packages in one billing statement and service point of contact. In the near future, consumers can perhaps expect total service bundles with satellite TV, most probably adding cellular service for satellite TV as a service component.

The benefits of bundling services are:  receiving a single bill, receiving a discounted price for using additional services, simplicity and convenience of dealing with a single provider.
