Last February 28, 2010, Fox Soccer Plus kicks off with four of the biggest names in the telecommunications industry: Direct TV, Dish Network, Verizon FiOS TV, and Time Warner Cable systems.

According to the MSO, the Fox Soccer sports premium network is also expected to join the No. 2 cable operator's lineup by year-end.

Fox Soccer Plus has also regained some rights from Setanta Sports that Fox Soccer Channel had been subleasing.  These programs had been broadcasted by Direct TV since 2005. Sources estimate that Setanta USA had over 120,000 subscribers in the US. 

In addition to DirecTV, Dish Network (who is positioning Fox Soccer Plus as an a’la carte option to its subscribers), and FiOS, Setanta's affiliate lineup is comprised with AT&T U-verse and RCN, as well as Cox and Comcast on some select markets.  Networks Cox and Comcast are still in talk on the matter. 

Fox Soccer Plus will feature exclusive matches from England's Barclays Premier League, the UEFA Champions League, England's FA Cup, Carling Cup and the Coca-Cola Championship, and Italy's top circuit, Serie A.   Its programming package will encompass some 600 exclusive events as it is expected to showcase a number of live and exclusive England men's national team matches as well as an array of rugby programming (e.g. the Guinness Premiership, the Heineken Cup, and the Magners League).

Fox Soccer Plus will provide distribution partners the ability to create an extremely passionate subscriber base, Mike Hopkins of Fox Cable Networks points out in a statement. "Soccer and International sports fans will thoroughly enjoy the diverse and compelling lineup of live events."
