Direct TV, one of the major Satellite TV providers in the United States, expands its boundaries into the Far East with its recently added Chinese Satellite TV channel, the Charming China.

Charming China will broadcast Mandarin entertainment programs from nine popular local channels in China.  Among Direct TV’s Satellite TV channel list, the said channel integrates diverse programs (i.e. Entertainment News, Talent Shows, Celebrity interviews, Musical and Art Programs) to meet the lifestyle and demands of the many overseas Chinese viewers.

The new Satellite TV channel in China will be broadcasted exclusively for 24 hours on Direct TV's International programming channels worldwide which started last 12 February 2010.

Direct TV’s Satellite TV audiences will be the first to watch the latest episodes of their favorite programs from Hunan TV, Beijing TV, Jiangsu TV and other top-rated Chinese TV stations on Charming China.

Direct TV’s new addition to its Satellite TV International channel list is undoubtedly one bold move as China makes up almost 20% of the world’s population. There are about 3.6 million Chinese Americans in the United States alone. However, others believe it as only one of the many moves of the Chinese selling their propaganda to the rest of the world.
