Derek Chang, EVP of Direct TV’s Content Strategy and Development, strongly puts how the company has been leading the industry with HD viewing. The EVP invites their viewers to compare Satellite TV networks in terms of the HD channels they offer to the public. He is confident that subscribers will find their 160 HD number intact and not bloated. In the same manner, he challenges its rival, Dish Network to do the same with their recent claim of the total HD channels they served.
In addition to the added HD channels, Direct TV will also launch a collection of 3D channels this June. Viewers can expect very soon N3D™ powered by Panasonic, ESPN 3D, 3D DIRECTV Cinema channel and 3D DIRECTV on Demand channel.
Direct TV serves local HD programming to 138 markets that covers 92% of TV households in the country. It is also the industry leader in providing the most sports in high definition; the company continues its exclusive HD broadcast of programs like the NFL Sunday Ticket and NCAA Mega March Madness.
