Direct TV Carries 130+ National HD Channels
Since Direct TV has just announced they will be carrying 100 National High Definition (HD) channels it appears that the concept of HDTV is definitely starting to take off in all directions. It is certainly just a matter of time before the other cable and satellite companies offer the same option or something more to keep up with their competition. In 2006 we saw a slow introduction of HD channels by Direct TV and various other cable providers.
However 2007 has brought a channel line up starting to fall into place for Direct TV. The channels that have been secured in place include A&E, National Geographic, Bravo, NFL Network, Cartoon Network, SciFi Channel, CNN, Speed, Food Network, TBS, FX, The History Channel, HGTV, The Weather Channel, MTV, and USA Network.
On August 14, 2008, Direct TV launched additional 30 HD channels bringing the total lineup of HD channels to 130. Among the HD channels launched were; Showtime Extreme HD, Showtime Showcase HD, Planet Green HD, ABC Family HD and additional pay-per-view HD channels. Aside from 24 hour day accessibility, these channels are available in the Dolby Digital audio format.
Highly acclaimed movies, action filled sports and award winning programs are now delivered with lifelike picture quality. Direct TV is the company that you can rely for all your HD channel needs.
